Parents upset about to decision to shut down Toquam Magnet School

The Stamford (Conn.) School District board has decided to close Toquam Magnet School, a K-5 school. Its students probably will be assigned to the Environmental Magnet School, a new interdistrict K-8 facility that will open soon. The decision to close the Toquam school, which has angered and saddened parents here, is part of a broader strategy by the district to cope with budget cuts and declining enrollments across the city.
