Camden, N.J., opens new school

First new facility in 15 years for struggling district.

The new Octavius V. Catto Community school is the first new school built in Camden, N.J., in 15 years. Students, teachers and residents hope it will help revive the blighted neighborhood. The 90,000-square-foot facility replaces the antiquated 76-year-old Catto and the crowded Dudley Elementary.
