239,000-square-foot facility will replace building from 1940s

From The Detroit News: The Detroit school district has begun a $50.3 million construction project that will result in a new Mumford High School by 2012. The 239,000-square-foot building will replace a crumbling, powder-blue facility that dates to the late 1940s. The new school, to be built where Mumford's athletic field sits, will feature academic core areas, a high-tech media center, modern science laboratories and a community health clinic.
