Palm Beach County, Fla., sees school construction slowdown

Shrinking enrollment and money shortages mean fewer new classrooms

The Palm Beach County (Fla.) School District, for the second straight year, is not adding new schools to its long-range plan. Delays are likely for numerous previously announced projects, because of shrinking student enrollment and an estimated $653.1 million drop in funds for building projects through 2013.
