Bond vote falls short in New London (Iowa) district

$3.6 million would have paid for athletic facility upgrades

From The Mount Pleasant News: The New London (Iowa) Community School District has failed to win approval of a $3.6 million facilities bond proposal. The bonds would have financed construction of an outdoor athletic complex and a multi-purpose community room/gymnasium, as well as remodeling of the existing school building.

EARLIER...from The Mount Pleasant News: Patrons of the New London (Iowa) Community School District will be going to the polls Dec. 7 to decide on a $3.6 million bond proposal for school improvements. Items included on the bond issue range from a renovated outdoor athletic complex to a multi-purpose gym and a remodeled Family & Consumer Science classroom and media center.
