From The Chicago Tribune: A student wounded last week outside a residence hall at Northern Illinois University in DeKalbdescribes how he came to the aid of a female student who was being bothered by another student. Brian Mulder, 24, is expected to fully recover, though his recuperation is expected to take several months. Zachary R. Isaacman, 22, has been chargged with three felonies, including aggravated battery with a firearm.Earlier from The Chicago Tribune: A person was in custody this morning after a student was wounded in a shooting on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. The shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. and the campus was shut down. But as of 5 a.m., the campus was open and the university said classes would be held as scheduled. NIU says the shooting occurred near Stevenson Residence Hall. The wounded student was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
