Spokane, Wash., school will break ground this spring on new hall

Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash., is building an $11.6 million residence hall that will house 168 students. The university hopes to open the 44,000-square-foot facility in fall 2009. It will have three floors above ground and a daylight basement. The school expects to break ground in May. Whitworth needs more student housing so it can continue to provide on-campus living for two-thirds of its undergraduate population, which has been increasing. The architect is NAC/Architecture.
