Senator urges Pentagon to repair schools on military bases

Report shows schools run by the Defense Department are in terrible condition

From The Richmond Times-Dispatch:U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner and a bipartisan group of colleagues are asking Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to make the repair of military-base schools a top priority. According to the investigation by the Center for Public Integrity, 75 percent of Defense Department-run schools on military installations are either beyond repair or would require extensive renovation to meet minimum standards for safety, quality, accessibility and design.
