University of Florida begins building graduate studies facility

Hough Hall building is expected to be finished in 2010

News release: The University of Florida has broken ground on the Hough Hall Graduate Studies Building. The facility is designed to blend with other "Collegiate Gothic" architecture on the campus. Workers expect to complete Hough Hall in May 2010. Construction of the 70,000-square-foot complex is expected to cost $19 million. The building will have a three-story atrium gathering spot and will include five large classrooms, two flexible seminar rooms, 17 student breakout rooms, two open student lounges, workspace for staff and administrators and a Financial Markets Lab. The builder is Ajax Building Corporation, and the architects are Rowe Architects and Sasaki Associates.
