Parents say St. Raphael Academy's access to city playing fields shuts out public schools
From The Boston Globe: A lawsuit that accuses the city of Pawtucket, R.I., of giving a Catholic school preferential access to public playing fields is going to court this week. The lawsuit, spearheaded by the American Civil Liberties Union, contends that city officials are violating the First Amendment by allowing Saint Raphael Academy exclusive access to city playing fields. The parents say the arrangement has resulted in public school athletes having insufficient field space for practices and games.
