Osceola County (Fla.) district refines prototype for school under construction

Feb. 14, 2007
The district is expected to save $2.5 million on construction costs for elementary-middle school project.

One of the Osceola County (Fla.) district's newest schools will open as what is described as a model in the county, both in terms of its design and the public-private partnership that is going into creating it. The new elementary-middle school in Harmony is scheduled to open in August 2008 and is projected to save the district $2.5 million or more in construction costs. Costs will be reduced by using a new version of a previous two-story prototype school.
