Layoffs rescinded for 3,800 Detroit teachers

From The Detroit News: About 3,800 Detroit Public Schools teachers who had received layoff notices are being called back to work. Along with the teachers, another 1,200 union members such as social workers and counselors expect to be called back in the coming days, union officials predicted. Detroit Public Schools issued layoff notices to all 5,466 members of the union in April as it grappled with a $327 million budget deficit.
