Gibson County High School student Texanna Edwards' dress incorporated stars and bars of rebel flag

From The Nashville Tennessean: A senior at Gibson County High School in Dyer, Tenn., was not allowed to attend her prom because her dress – red and decorated with bright blue bars and white stars – resembled a Confederate battle flag. Texanna Edwards, 18, was stopped from entering the prom after school officials told her the dress was “offensive and inappropriate.” School officials say a teacher warned Edwards about two months ago that the dress might not be acceptable. The teacher suggested that Edwards should clear the idea with the principal, but Edwards did not do so.
