District won't pay dad for cellphone confiscated from high school student
From The Biloxi Sun-Herald: The Pascagoula (Miss.) District will not be reimbursing the parent of a Gautier High School student for a cellphone that was confiscated and not returned. The student's father, Mark Miller, sued for the costs of a new phone, but his case was dismissed. Students are not allowed to bring cellphones to school in the district. The phone is taken away from violators and not returned until the end of the school year. District officials say they don’t return phones to parents because the students likely would get them back.
