Nov. 5, 2010

From The Chicago Sun-Times: The Federal Aviation Administration says that two high schools near O'Hare International Airport—Ridgewood in Norridge, Ill., and Elk Grove in Elk Grove Village, Ill.are eligible to receive $20 million to $30 million to insulate their buildings from airplane noise. The money won't come immediately. The City of Chicago and the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission, a group of towns and school districts affected by the noise, first have to determine what kind of noise mitigation is needed, and pass that information on to the FAA.
