A high school in Wayne, N.J., was evacuated here during the last full day of classes after a total of 16 gunpowder-filled devices with fuses were found in two lockers. A bomb squad robot removed the devices. School officials learned of the devices Wednesday morning after being alerted by a student. He passed his old locker, which he had emptied a week ago, and noticed that it was padlocked and that a shoelace-like fuse was sticking out. School officials then found a fuse hanging from another locker 20 feet away. The officials pulled the fire alarm and called the police.
