New bus restrictions irk Lindbergh (Mo.) district

July 12, 2007
Re-routing because of the restrictions will cost at least $6,000 a year.

Administrators in the Lindbergh (Mo.) district are angry because new county legislation bans bus traffic on a road used for transporting 17 busloads of students a day to Lindbergh High School. Rerouting 17 buses will add five to 10 minutes for each trip and will cost the district at least an additional $6,000 a year. Lindbergh administrators say St. Louis County officials did not make an effort to try to work with the school district to find a compromise before the County Council approved the bus ban.
