Private school founded by Will Smith draws controversy

School in Calabasas, Calif., plans to use teaching methods developed by founder of Scientology
The planned Sept. 3 opening of New Village Academy, a private school on the leased campus of a former school in Calabasas, Calif., will be accompanied by a whiff of controversy. Some of its teachers are members of the Church of Scientology, and it will use teaching methods developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.
