From The Cincinnati Enquirer: Fire crews from nearly a dozen agencies worked to extinguish a massive blaze that destroyed the former Elizabethtown Elementary School in Whitewater Township, Ohio. Neighbors noticed flames shooting from an air-conditioning unit at the one-story, red brick building. The old school hadn’t been used in more than a year and was frequently a target of vandalism. The building was closed by the Southwest Local School District at the end of the 2007-08 school year. Southwest officials said the costs to renovate the school, which was more than 100 years old, were too high
