Bonds approved in Juneau, Alaska, district

District will build new auditorium, upgrade athletic facilities.

Voters in the Juneau, Alaska, school district have approved a $17.1 million bond package. Proposition 1, authorizes the sale of $11.2 million in bonds to finish an auditorium. Proposition 2 calls for $5 million in bonds for a new track and artificial turf field. Proposition 3 will provide $920,000 to finish furnishing the new Thunder Mountain High School with desks, computers and educational equipment.
