Tainted water shuts down 2 Indiana schools

Officials in Oxford, Ind., seek cause of E. coli contamination
School officials inOxford, Ind., are hoping to learn the source of E. coli bacteria found in the water at Benton Central Jr.-Sr. High School and nearby Prairie Crossing Elementary. Both schools are closed today pending further test results. Other Benton Community School Corporation schools are not affected and will be open. The district learned of the bacteria over the weekend after routine water testing. School staff and students were notified of the problem Monday and water fountains were disabled at both schools.
