Illinois district ready to end 9 years of state control
From The Chicago Tribune: After a financial meltdown and nine years under the control of the state of Illinois, Round Lake Area Schools District 116 in the northwest suburbs of Chicago is about to begin fending for itself again. The fiscal turnaround is significant. The district was on the verge of dissolving in 2002, and now is expected to shake state control in June — one year early.
