University president Irvin Reid's tenure has seen significant improvements to Detroit school

As Irvin Reid celebrates his 10th year as Wayne State University's president, there's little doubt that he's left his mark, redefining the university as a powerful economic engine for Detroit, creating residential life on campus and elevating the university's national profile. Reid has built a research development park, and partnered with private developers to create South University Village, and pioneered the construction of three residence halls on the commuter campus
