University of South Carolina will open new alumni center

From The Columbia State: The University of South Carolina in Columbia will open a new alumni center across from the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center by late 2014. In addition to housing 20 alumni staff members, the 60,000-square-foot building will include a ballroom that can seat 500 people, an auditorium and meeting rooms. The alumni association is buying the site for $1.1 million from the City of Columbia.
