Middle school nearly complete in Oceanside (Calif.) district

Chavez Middle School, under construction for more than two years and delayed by more than six months, is expected to open at the end of February in the Oceanside (Calif.) Unified School District. The $25 million campus will be the district's third middle school. It had been scheduled to open in August. About 1,000 students who were scheduled to attend Chavez in the fall are in classrooms at the former site of Pacifica Elementary School.
