DePaul University unveils science facility

$40 million building triples campus space for science
Jan. 8, 2009
DePaul University has unveiled a new $40 million science building in Chicago that it says is a tangible manifestation of its commitment to science education. The four-story, 129,600-square-foot Monsignor Andrew J. McGowan Science Building triples the amount of space DePaul can use to prepare teachers for advanced science degrees, recruit women and people of color into science fields and increase enrollment in science courses. It has 23 research labs, eight teaching labs, a 150-seat tiered lecture hall, two greenhouses on the roof, high-efficiency boilers and an air-handling control system. The architect is Antunovich Associates. To read The Chicago Tribune article, click here. To read a university news release about the facility, click here.
