District withdraws zoning application and says it doesn't need city's approval for projects.

The Plano (Texas) school district has withdrawn its applications with the city to build two day-care centers exclusively for teachers, but district leaders say they are still committed to starting employee day care. Plano officials withdrew zoning applications to build the centers on district-owned land next to the Beaty and Pearson early childhood schools. District officials say it is not required to consult the city on the project
