Voters reject East Valley (Wash.) district bond request

FromThe Spokane Spokesman-Review: The East Valley (Wash.) School Board is discussing what to do now that a $33.75 million school bond has failed to garner a supermajority. One option discussed was to move all the seventh- and eighth-graders into East Valley High School. The bond funds would have enabled the district to modernize facilities and convert to a preK-8 grade configuration. EARLIER...The East Valley (Wash.) district has scheduled a $33.75 million bond election for April 26. The money would enable the district to expand and modernize buildings to accommodate a preK-8 grade configuration. East Valley is converting from a configuration of elementary and middle schools.
