From The Mankato Free Press: The Mankato (Minn.) school district has broken ground on the community's first new elementary school in 50 years. The design of the facility calls for a geothermal heating system, computers available to each classroom, voice-integrated interactive whiteboard system, 24 classrooms grouped in quads, and a kitchen that can be used after school hours. It is expected to be ready in 2010. The architect is Paulsen Architects.
