Cincinnati school district will go to court over $7 million it's owed in back taxes

It is challenging state's decision to exempt city of Cincinnati from paying back taxes to district

From The Cincinnati Enquirer: The Cincinnati school district plans to take legal action against the state in efforts to recoup more than $7 million in back taxes that the city of Cincinnati owes the district. The district says the state, at the city’s behest, illegally included a provision in its budget bill that exempts the city from paying $11.9 million in back taxes on the Duke Energy Convention Center. The provision goes against an earlier ruling by the Ohio Tax Commissioner, which said that the city does indeed have to pay those back taxes.
