New elementary building unveiled in Royal Oak, Mich.

Northwood Elementary School is the first new building in the district since 1964

The Royal Oak (Mich.) district has built a new Northwood Elementary School to replace the original building, which was built in 1925. It is the first new school building in the district since 1964. Royal Oak has been losing about 100 students a year, but Superintendent Thomas Moline says students attending the aging Northwood were in desperate need of a new building.
