Kindergarten student who wore University of Michigan t-shirt to school was told to turn his shirt inside out

From The Daily Oklahoman: The superintendent of Oklahoma City Public Schools has temporarily lifted the districtwide ban on college and professional sports team clothing. The ban will be lifted for 60 days, while a yet-to-be-formed committee looks at the issue of gang apparel and team logos. The district attracted unwanted publicity about the ban last month when a kindergarten student was asked to turn his University of Michigan t-shirt inside out. The shirt violated a district policy that allowed only Oklahoma college apparel.

AUGUST 2012...from Annarbor.com: A 5-year-old kindergartner in Oklahoma City punished for wearing a University of Michigan shirt to school has been invited to come to Ann Arbor and attend a Wolverines football game. Cooper Barton, who attends Wilson Elementary School in Oklahoma City, was forced by school administrators to turn his Michigan t-shirt inside out at school because the clothing violated the school district's dress code. The district prohibits students from wearing any college apparel of schools that are not in Oklahoma.
