Bill would let Utah districts work out details of split behind closed doors

Officials are trying to figure out how the Jordan district will be divided
Utah school districts that split into smaller units should be allowed to divvy up school district property behind closed doors, according to a bill endorsed by the Utah Senate Education Committee. The bill states that school districts must put all assets on the table during negotiations, but that those negotiations can be closed to the public. Transition teams now are working to divide the Jordan School District after area voters approved creation of smaller districts.
