Temporary leader chosen for Ohio School Facilities Commission

`Commission's chief financial officer takes reins

From The Columbus Dispatch: The Ohio School Facilities Commission has appointed an interim director to temporarily lead the agency. Eric Bode, the commission's chief financial officer since 2000, will lead the agency until a permanent replacement is named. He replaces Michael Shoemaker, who was fired by Gov. Ted Strickland.

JULY 2009...from The Columbus Dispatch: Michael Shoemaker is being replaced as head of the Ohio School Facilities Commission. Gov. Ted Strickland declined to say why he is ousting Shoemaker. He says he wants new leadership of the panel, which was created in 1997 to oversee construction and renovation of public school buildings. Shoemaker has been in the post since February 2007.
