Hamilton County (Tenn.) district moves forward on plans for new elementary

850-student facility will replace 2 existing campuses

The Hamilton County (Tenn.) district is planning to build a new East Ridge Elementary School in Chattanooga to replace the existing 70-year-old facility. Officials hope the $20 million facility, which is to be built on the site of the existing school. will be open in 2010. When the 850-student school is completed, the district will close nearby McBrien Elementary. The architect is Don Wamp Architects.
