Bozeman (Mont.) district wary about construction costs

Board members worry that new elementary school will be too expensive.

The Bozeman (Mont.) district is moving forward with plans to build its seventh elementary school. However, before the school board pursues a bond issue that would pay for the school, it wants the design team to plan the project budget very carefully. Elements of the district's new middle school campus had to be scaled back when the district's bond request turned out to be $7 million short. The elementary is to be built on an 11-acre site owned by the district. The architect is Prugh & Lenon.
