Audit shows missing property from two Louisiana colleges

Post-hurricane conditions are blamed for some of the lost or stolen property

Nearly $1.6 million in property, mostly computer gear, is missing from the campuses of the University of New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, according to an audit of the colleges. Officials at the University of New Orleans say some of the missing property can be blamed on the chaotic conditions that followed Hurricane Katrina.
