Proposal is part of district overhaul plan that would "turn around" 14 schools
From The Boston Globe: Boston schools Superintendent Carol R. Johnson wants to create three city-run charter schools from scratch as part of a dramatic plan to overhaul the school district. Johnson is unveiling the plan to the School Committee along with additonal details of her attempt to turn around 14 schools with low test scores. The meeting is her first public push for the changes since the state gave superintendents broad new authority to remake underperforming schools and open new innovative programs.
