Cole Hall, where five students were killed, has undergone a $6 million renovation

From The DeKalb Daily Chronicle: Cole Hall, the site of a deadly shooting spree at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, has reopened after being shuttered for nearly four years. On Feb. 14, 2008, a former NIU student opened fire in the building; five students died and 21 others were injured before the gunman killed himself. The 1960s-era building has received an extensive overhaul during a $6 million renovation. It is now equipped with a “collaboratory” classroom that features the latest technology, a lecture hall and an anthropology museum.
