Kentucky bill would guarantee that students could attend a neighborhood school

Legislation also would allow creation of charter schools in the state

From The Louisville Courier-Journal: The Kentucky Senate has approved a bill that would guarantee children the right to attend their neighborhood school. Opponents of the measure warned it would unravel decades of desegregation. Another provision of the bill would allow charter schools in the state for the first time.
