15,000-square-foot facility at Southampton campus will replace existing center

From Southampton Patch: Stony Brook University officials and state lawmakers have broken ground on a new Marine Sciences Center for the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences in Southampton, N.Y. The 15,000-square-foot research and teaching facility will replace the existing waterfront research center at the Stony Brook Southampton campus. The new facility will research issues facing Long Island's coastal ecosystems and the world, while also allowing the school to offer more classes with experiential components.
