Greenport (N.Y.) district wins approval of bond request

$7.4 million project will upgrade aging school

From The North Fork Patch: Voters in the Greenport (N.Y.) Union Free School District have approved a $7.4 million capital improvement bond request, as well as a $1.2 million wind and solar energy project.

Union Free School District is asking voters to decide on Dec. 7 whether to approve a $7.4 million capital improvement bond and accompanying $1.27 million wind and solar project. The money would pay to install a roof on the 1930s-era building, replace two 38-year-old boilers with a dual fuel system, repair damage to the auditorium ceiling, and make bathrooms on the second and third floors handicapped accessible.
