Central Michigan University wants to open medical school

Plan aims to begin classes in 2011

Central Michigan University says it wants to build a medical school, hoping to take in the first 100 students at its Mount Pleasant campus by 2011. The school would be housed in a $15-million addition to the health sciences building, and school officials have been pursuing partnerships with area health care providers to give third- and fourth-year students clinical experience.
