Ventura (Iowa) district bond proposal defeated

$2.7 million would have paid for high school renovations

A $2.75 million bond issue that would have renovated Ventura (Iowa) High School has failed again at the polls. The request won support of 56.09 percent of voters, but needed 60 percent to win approval. The same plan failed in December when the yes votes came to 59.96 percent. The district's next opportunity for a bond election will be in 2009.
