Oswego (Ill.) board to reconsider architect selection for new high school

June 12, 2007
New committee will evaluate proposals after concerns are raised about the initial process.

The Oswego (Ill.) School Board has voted to build the district's third high school but will re-evaluate the architectural firm chosen last year, amid complaints that the original selection process was unfair. The board had chosen DLR Group of Chicago to design the school. The recommendation came from a committee that included Doug Gallois, who was later hired as the director of construction services. After a resident and several board members raised concerns, school administrators recommended forming a new committee. The new committee will choose between DLR Group, ATS&R, and Kluber, Skahan and Associates.
