Voters OK school bonds in Las Cruces, N.M.

$35 million will help pay for 3 new schools
The Las Cruces (N.M.) district will build three new schools--elementary, middle and high--with $35 million in bond funds approved by voters. The district will spend $19.5 million to build a high school that will open in 2011, $6.5 million to build a middle school that will open in 2010, and $3 million to build an elementary school that will open in 2009. Another $6 million is earmarked for renovations such as roof repair, new heating and cooling systems, furniture, lighting, parking lot improvements, bathroom remodeling, and classroom and playground equipment.To read The Las Cruces Sun-News article, click here.
