Plan would break up state's medical university and expand Rowan University

From The Newark Star-Ledger: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is proposing a restructuring of New Jersey’s university system that would break up the state’s medical university while creating a major new public research campus at Rowan University. The plan, recommended by a special governor’s task force, would remake — and rename — the Newark-based University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. At the same time, Rowan — a once sleepy state college in Gloucester County — would gain stature, essentially taking over the Camden campus of Rutgers University, including its law school.
