DeKalb County (Ga.) district seeks approval of construction plans

Five-year sales tax would pay for $475 million program

From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Voters in the DeKalb County (Ga.) district are expected to decide in November whether to approve a 1 cent sales tax that would pay for a $475 million plan to replace and renovate schools, and to purchase new technology and buses. Among the projects included in the proposal: Construction of seven elementary schools, an arts school at Avondale Middle and a $22.4 million renovation and addition at Redan High.
