Encinitas district seeks bond funds

$44.2 million request on November ballot

From The North County Times: Voters in the Encinitas (Calif.) Union School District will decide in November whether to allow the district to borrow as much as $44.2 million for renovation work and technological upgrades at its nine campuses. The proposed projects include $11 million to upgrade the district's technology infrastructure; $6.7 million to build a learning center and outdoor science laboratory; $5.7 million to install solar panels at seven campuses; $1.9 million to replace portable buildings at Ocean Knoll Elementary; $1.3 million to renovate Capri Elementary multipurpose room for $1.3 million. An estimated $5 million will go into an endowment fund to pay for future technology upgrades.
