The entire staff had been removed from Miramonte Elementary after 2 teachers were charged with sexual abuse

From The Los Angeles Times: Miramonte Elementary School in the Los Angeles Unified District has begun the 2012-13 year with the return of most of the teaching staff that was forced to leave the school in the wake of a sexual abuse scandal. After the January arrest of former colleague Mark Berndt for alleged lewd conduct, followed by the arrest of a second teacher for unrelated alleged lewd conduct, the entire staff had been ordered off the campus. It was the only way, district officials said, to assure that students were safe. The ousted teachers were forced to wait out the rest of the school year at a nearby unopened high school. Now most of them are back at Miramonte.
